Annabell Milbanke was tutored by a Cambridge professor in studies such as literature, science, and mathematics. Her love for math earned her the nickname "Princess of Parallelograms". She felt priveliged to be educated since the opportunity was rare for most young women of her time. She married poet Lord Byron and had one daughter named Ada. Her husband's moody nature eventually led to a split up between the couple. Annabell died on May 16,1860, one day before her sixty-eighth birthday, a victim of breast cancer.

I found that the  dimensions of Tennessee are 440 mi. x 120mi. By using the formula "A=lxw", I concluded that the approximate area of Tennessee is 52,800 sq. mi. This approximate answer is much higher in contrast to the state's exact area which is 42,144 sq. mi. The formula for finding the area of a square, rectangle, and parallelogram are the same because all of the shapes are parallelograms.

Chapter 10 Post

I have learned many things about circles in chapter ten. For example, tangents have one point in common with a circle. Also, the Pythagorean Theorem can be used to find a missing leg or the hypotenuse of a triangle that is inscribed in a circle. Engineers and architects use information about circles to formulate blueprints for building structures. I am still having trouble finding missing angles of inscribed polygons.
